It's easy to get caught up in big company's ads for cheap TV's and all that, but what you're missing out on is the amazing deals smaller businesses are running. Since starting my influencer journey, I've been introduced to quite a few small businesses that are absolutely killing it. I've gotten to know the owners behind the brand and I've tried their products out for myself. The personal touch each of these 15 businesses I'm going to share with you puts behind their brands is 100% unique to them. Maskcara Beauty is an MLM company specializing in cream-based makeup products and eyeshadows. I personally don't have an issue with MLM companies as long as the products work, and the person behind the business makes it fun without pressuring me to buy. That is my girl, Kat. She's soo sweet, full of personality, and soo stinking beautiful! I did a review of Maskcara Beauty over on IGTV I'll link here for you. My favorites are the cream-based highlighters (concealers) and the Restore Brush Cleaner. You spray your dirty brush, swirl it around on a microfiber cloth, and BOOM, dried and ready to use.

I recently received two pairs of their sunglasses and one pair of their blue light blocking glasses in PR, and let me tell you, the quality is there. Vela has gotten her hands on them a few times, and the fact that they're not broken is a miracle. TOPFOXX is a woman run and owned company based in New York offering unique designs. I especially love the blue light blocking glasses. They're super cute and with the amount of screen time I've had lately, I've been wearing them a lot. Britt's Glitz & Glamz
Britt specializes in colored contacts and lashes. When Britt sent me some of her items to try, she included some goodies for Vela which was such a nice touch. If you haven't seen my video trying out contacts for the first time, I'll leave that link here - probably the funniest video I've ever done. Outside of my user error, the contacts were quite comfortable and the blue color somehow looked natural on my brown eyes. Britt's eyelashes are soo pretty with tons of styles to choose from. I also love that they're synthetic so they're cruelty-free.

PJ Johnson, the woman behind the brand uses locally sourced ingredients, is eco-conscious, and cruelty-free. Lit Supply Shop Mugs
The Lit Supply Shop currently offers three super fun mug designs that give back. Part of their profits goes towards cancer awareness and prevention programs. This is a huge passion for the company, as one of the owners, unfortunately, had a loss in their family due to cancer. I love that their business plan is to create items that have a personal touch, are simple, and doesn't look like it came from a corporation, no matter how big they get.

First off, thank you to Kat for sending me their Mermaid Dry Shampoo, because I'm truly obsessed and almost out. Captain Blankenship is a woman-run company based in the Hudson Valley. Orchid Lane Poshmark
Poshmark is a website were you can buy and sell gently used or never worn clothing, accessories, and home decor at a cheaper price than if you were to go out and buy those items directly from the retailers. My friend Jess runs her own business as a reseller through Poshmark and she's absolutely killing it. She goes bin hunting at thrift stores and even helps others sell their own unwanted items, like me! I know the holidays can be quiet expensive, yet you have soo many parties and gathering to attend. Why buy a brand new outfit you'll only wear once when you can buy gently used at a quarter of the cost?

Limelife is an MLM style company specializing in professional makeup and all-natural skincare. My friend Caitlin whom I've met through the wonderful world of social media is a Beauty Guide for Limelife. She's always one of the top saleswomen on her team, and for good reason. Her makeup skills are incredible. She can do anything from a detailed Halloween look to flawless everyday glam. She's one of the kindest souls you'll ever meet, you'll want to be her best friend! Maggie Mittendorf Rodan + Fields
Rodan + Fields is an MLM style company that specializes in skincare. This company was started by the two women behind proactive. I'm sure you've heard of Lash Boost, that's these guys right here. Maggie is a consultant for R+F and to say she's passionate about the company would be an understatement. She's extremely knowledgable about the products they offer and gets genuinely excited about skin concerns because she knows how to fix them. Maggie has sent me samples in the past including samples of their Radiant Defense Perfecting Liquid. I did a challenge where I used this to do a complete full-face makeup look and I was shocked by how well it turned out. The Radiant Defense provides a nice light-medium glowing coverage to the skin, but it's considered skincare and is actually good for your skin. Maggie later sent me the full-sized bottle with the brush and I wear it all the time.
